Commercial

New Commercial Roofs

You will find that there are many types of commercial roofing materials. Some of the considerations you will make when it comes to your new roof will be durability, energy efficiency and, of course, cost.
The key to a good long life for your commercial roof is the right material for the job. Proper installation. Maintenance. Good business owners, like you, know how important energy efficiency is to your overall return on your investment.
There are many different types of materials for commercial roofs. These include metal roofing, BUR membrane, spray-on silicon, TOP roof membrane and shingles are the most common in Utah. When you are deciding what roof is right for you consider the following:
  • What’s visible?
  • Will it be walked on a lot?
  • Is it going to be exposed to harsh chemicals or grease?
  • What about Utah’s extreme temperatures?
  • Is there a lot of exposure to the sun?
  • Is there high winds in the area?
The answers to these questions should affect your choice of roofing materials and here at Raven Roofing, we can talk you through your choices.

Do you have questions about tear out and replace or just a layover? Good! Call us we will help you make a choice that works best for your company and building.

Everything starts with a good conversation. What evidence do you have of the problem? Is there other issues? We climb up on your roof and see. Then we talk. Then we bid. You get it. One step at a time until your problem is fixed and your building is dry and safe.

Our Process

Fine-tuned processes make for consistently good results for you. Raven Roofing works to ensure that our process leaves you happy and with a quality product about which you can brag to your friends. Here is how we get there with you.

Step 1: Project Interview

Wet ceiling? We walls? Leaking from the ventilation system? You tell us. Then we get on the roof and do some research. Once we have answers, we talk with you about solutions.

Step 2: Estimate

The estimate is driven by what your goals are and what is best for your building. Cheap solutions are never really cheap as you find yourself repairing repairs in a few years. The estimate will be broken down for you and in a format that your insurance provider can use. We got this.

Step 3: Job Approval

You and our estimator will go through the estimate. You may change your goals and have us re-estimate. But, once you are on board with doing what is best for your roof, you sign off on the estimate and provide your initial payment.

Step 4: Work Commenced

Let’s get you “dried-in”. Let’s get started. Most roofs will require a “tear-off” and that is where we start. Sometimes it requires a “layover” of the existing materials with new ones. Whatever your roof requires, we jump up on your roof and get started.

Step 5: Project Completed

Your roof is done! Depending on the type of work, whether it is a tear-off and replace or an overlay, the project can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Once your roof repairs are completed, we review our original scope with you and the final product. You approve it! We approve it! You make your final payment.
Yes. The thought of a new roof and the expense related to it can be overwhelming. But, here at Raven Roofing we are with you every step of the way from helping you with your insurance or financing to a finished roof and clean job site. Let us help you and take away the worry.

Frequently asked questions

“Wait a minute” you say. “I have a few questions”. Great! We love answering your questions because the more you understand who we are and how we do our job, the more peace of mind you will enjoy. Here are some of the most common questions you should ask.
What is your contractor's license number?
Good question! Call us and we will provide you with it.
Do you carry workman's compensation insurance?
Yes! Absolutely! Accidents happen so we make sure our employees are covered when they are on your job.
Does Raven Roofing use subcontractors?
Most of the time the tradesmen on your roof are our direct employees. This is how we control the high quality of our work. Sometimes however unique features on your roof may require us to hire subcontractors.
The difference between a "layover" and a tear-off and replace, you may ask.
Again, good question.

Raven Roofing only does a layover when the existing roof is up to code and simply needs to have a fresh layer of materials laid over the old materials.

Sometimes, the old roof is no longer viable or wasn’t installed to today’s standards. In this case, we tear off the old roof. Then we replace it.

Are you going to install a metal drip edge after you lay the shingles?
Usually, but it depends on the estimate and what you have decided. It is best practices to do so. We will always encourage you to chose the best options but recognize you have a budget.
Can you help me with my insurance claim?
We will always help you as you work with your insurance adjuster. We will make sure our estimates meet the adjuster’s criteria. We will talk with them and help them understand our estimate. However, only you can reach out to them and get them out to review damage to your roof. They don’t take our calls but we will always take theirs.
