New Roof

If your roof is between 20 and 40 years old and has multiple leaks or missing shingles, we would highly recommend replacing your roof. A new roof can save you money by ending the cycle of throwing hard earned money at costly repairs that only last a season or two.
Okay. It is time. You have seen the leaks and the damage and the best way to protect your home is with a new roof. Raven Roofing can help you smoothly navigate what could be a difficult process.
The first part of this multi-step process is to determine whether you remove the old roofing material or just “layover” a new layer of asphalt shingles. Yes. It is less expensive to do a layover. However, it is also true that it your roof will last longer if the old is removed and completely replaced.

Your old roof is replaced with a brand-new roof. Your whole house will look and feel better. You will feel snug and safe.

Yes. Your roof should last 25-30 years based on the original material. But, rain, hail and high winds can reduce the life of your roof. It is frustrating! Waiting to replace a damaged roof means water is getting in and creating damage.

Do you need a new roof?

A quick inspection may help you determine if you need a new roof. We have included some common indications that you may need a new roof below.

Granular Loss

Granular loss is one of the most common symptoms and is clearly visible from the street. Excessive attic heat due to poor attic ventilation is one of the most common causes of this problem.

Pipe Boots

Don’t let a rookie install a pipe boot by smearing tar all over it. Improper pipe boot installation is one of the most common causes of leaks.

Missing Shingles

Find a shingle on your driveway or lawn? Call a professional roofer to get a replacement ASAP. A leak could destroy your plywood underneath the shingles and then leak into the attic and destroy your ceiling.

Valley Leaks

Valleys can leak due to improper installation of shingles or ice dams from no ice shield.

Heat Cracks

Heat cracks cause leaks and damage to homes. The roof needs to be replaced.

Our Process

As a General Contractor or Owner-Builder, Raven Roofing will give you a free estimate broken down by materials and labor. If you like our numbers, you sign off on our estimate. Then you provide us with a construction schedule. Prior to arriving at your site or ordering materials, you will make a payment equal to the cost of the materials. We start.

Step 1: Project Interview

Clearly understanding the issues and your concerns helps the estimator review the issues he will bid. He will need a full set of your construction drawings of the roof.

Step 2: Estimate

We complete the plan and material review. And, verify the correct measurements. Then the estimator will use professional software to generate a detailed estimate for your review. We will discuss together any questions you have about it.

You agree that working with Raven Roofing is your best option. You sign the estimate, pick colors and make your deposit payment. Raven Roofing then orders all materials needed to do your job right. Many times, your new shingles will be loaded on to your roof by the supplier.

Step 4: Work Commenced

As per your schedule, or on a date agreed with you, our crews show up to dry-in your roof. Then the vents are installed and waterproofed, paper laid and shingles laid. We clean up our garbage from your site.

Frequently asked questions

You have questions. Raven Roofing has answers. Raven Roofing has 25 years of experience in working for families just like yours. They understand your concerns and they take the time to be sure you understand. Below are a few questions we are asked frequently.
What is your Contractor's license number?

Upon submittal of an estimate, Raven Roofing will provide you with a contractor’s license number.

Do you have Workman's Compensation Insurance coverage on your tradesmen?
Yes. This insurance covers our employees while on your job. This protects you from having to pay for workers who could be injured on your job.
Does Raven Roofing use subcontractors on the job?
Yes. Sometimes. However, most of our crews and workers are direct employees of Raven Roofing.
Is it better to do a Lay-over on the existing roof or tear off the old roof and replace everything?
Usually, we will recommend that we tear off the old damage roof prior to installing the new roof. An over-lay could cover up poorly installed roofing or it could be missing ice and water shields. Your best process is a tear off and replace.
Are you going to install new drip edges at the time you replace the shingles?
Yes. This is always in our bids because it is the best way to make sure that water runs off into gutters instead of behind them.
What about tile or slate roofs?
Raven Roofing does do the tear off and replacement of your tile or slate roof. Be aware that generally, you cannot replace an asphalt roof with a tile or slate roof because your structural trusses were not designed for the heavier materials.
